At Hult anything is possible. A new kind of business school, our international network of diverse students and six global campuses opens many doors for our students–on a professional, personal, and even romantic level. Whilst we typically spotlight our inspiring alumni who graduated from Hult and focus on how they transformed their careers, in the spirit of Valentine’s Day, we thought we’d change things up a little.
This time around, we caught up with two Hult couples–Alejandra Meza and Robert Oomen and Kai Zimmer and Rosa Guzman–who all individually came to Hult to build upon their educational experience and found something a little extra–their future partner.

Q1. What did you do before Hult?
Ale: I’m originally from Puerto Vallarta, a beautiful beach destination in Mexico. I lived in Puerto Vallarta my whole life before deciding to pursue my Bachelor of Business Administration degree at the Hult Undergraduate campus in London.
Rob: After high school, I took a gap year with Education First in Boston. That was my first time living outside of The Netherlands. From my time there, I learned about Hult and got in touch!
Rosa: I was living in Mexico and ran my own Digital Marketing agency.
Kai: Before Hult, I was working as a Project Manager for a software company back in Germany
2. Why did you choose Hult?
Rob: I chose Hult because of the international environment and the possibility of being able to study at multiple campuses throughout my degree. I made full use of the Hult rotation program and studied in London, San-Francisco, Dubai, and Shanghai. Another reason I chose Hult, is because it’s not a traditional business school. Hult has a forward-looking vision towards the future of business education.
Rosa: I really liked the hands-on approach and multicultural environment. A friend of mine had also recently graduated from Hult and highly recommended the school.
Kai: For me, the key reasons I chose Hult were the broad diversity in the classroom and the opportunity to rotate and get to experience multiple campuses (I spent the last three months of my Hult experience in San Francisco).

3. Please tell us about your Hult experience? Key highlights?
Ale: Some of my best memories were created at Hult. In a way, the university is like a small family; everyone knows each other and students are more than just ‘another number’. It is a friendly and comfortable environment where people can be themselves and develop into the professionals they want to be.
Rob: I had a good Hult experience. The school doesn’t have a longstanding history, yet is continuously focused on improving. What I really appreciated during my time at Hult is how the school helped me to improve my soft-skills. I don’t think many other schools or universities match this offering.
Rosa and Kai: The people we met in our class are truly amazing! They have been impressive students to learn alongside with and absolutely inspirational, so much so they have become our dear friends.

Q4. How did you meet your partner?
Ale: We met on the first day of Orientation week, back in September 2013! We immediately became friends, but it wasn’t until April 2015 that we began to date. We got engaged exactly 50 months after the day we meet, in the same location (outside our old campus). It was super romantic to relive all our memories in London, but especially the ones at Hult!
Rosa and Kai: We were both on the Global One-Year MBA program at the Hult London campus and were placed in the same cohort.
Q5. Life after Hult: What have you been up to since graduating?
Ale: After my time in London, I moved to Amsterdam. I’m now the Internal Communications Coordinator for Irdeto, the world leader in digital platform security.
Rob: After Hult, I moved to Amsterdam to start working for C-creators. The company’s mission is to accelerate the transition to a circular economy around the world. In my first year, I worked as an Operations Manager and since then, as a Project Manager to help clients realize their ambitions to create circular business models.
Rosa and Kai: We both stayed in London. Rosa is working in Marketing and Kai in Consulting. We had our civil wedding in August 2016 and are just about to celebrate the one year anniversary of our wedding, that took place last March in Mexico–obviously attended by a lot of our friends from Hult, who made the occasion a truly unforgettable experience!
